GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The electrical Technician is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced electrical work on industrial plant equipment and mobile fleet assets. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems with limited supervision. The role supports continuous operations by ensuring safe and reliable electrical function across both fixed and mobile assets.

Key responsibilities:Performs installation and maintenance of electrical equipment ranging from diesel driven dewatering pumps, Air compressors and diesel driven generators Performs routine electrical servicing, general equipment maintenance and conducting basic fault-finding tasks on a wide range of equipment (Diesel Generators, Air Compressors, 3 phase motors & Electrical Distribution panels) Performs maintenance of batteries, lighting systems, alternators, and electrical starters on fleet equipment Carries out troubleshooting, testing, and repair of complex electrical systems in plant and mobile equipment (motors, drives, PLCs, lighting, control circuits) Carries out LV isolation and LV commissioning in accordance with LOTO practices Conduct in-depth inspections and root-cause analysis on recurring electrical faults. Respond to emergency maintenance calls during or after shifts (on-call rotation if applicable) Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections Ensure Safe working practices are carried out at all times in accordance to Health and Safety legislation
Qualification requirements Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical certification. Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or technical training program. Ability to read simple electrical schematics and follow instructions Basic computer skills for logging maintenance reports Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and basic hand/power tools Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and documentation Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system integration with electrical controls Strong Electrical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work ethic. Willingness to work in a dynamic, physically demanding environment. Exposure to noisy environments and Electrical hazards. Ability to work long hours Physical stamina for prolonged periods on foot and for lifting moderate to heavy equipment.
