Role Definition and Mission The Purchasing Manager ensures the effective management, compliance, and strategic development of the Resort’s procurement activities, in alignment with the standards and guidelines established by Clinique La Prairie Montreux. The Purchasing Manager is also responsible for overseeing and implementing the Resort’s purchasing structure, in collaboration with external suppliers and internal departments, under the supervision of the Finance Director and in coordination with the Montreux standards. They manage the execution of procurement processes, supplier integrations, and contract negotiations, ensuring full compliance with central procurement policies and operational requirements. Requirements· At least three years’ experience in international hotels.· Proficient in purchasing procedures and contract signing.· Strong organizational skills.· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.· Excellent team player; able to build team morale with a passionate and energetic personality.· Strong execution and follow-up skills.· Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
Responsibilities· Manage all purchasing requirements for the Health Resort and ensure full compliance with the Purchasing Policy. Any deviations must be reported immediately to the General Manager and Finance Director.· Prepare and process import declarations and licenses. Ensure Customs Duty is paid on time for imported items.· Liaise with government departments to ensure clearance and inspections are completed.· Regularly review contract suppliers to ensure pricing remains competitive. Maintain competitor knowledge by regularly surveying price lists of market competitors for similar operational supplies.· Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and maintain inventory levels accordingly, both long-term and short-term.· Work closely with other departments to purchase the highest-quality products at the best prices.· Ensure all purchase order requests are properly completed and approved.· Coordinate regular inventories with storeroom personnel and Department Heads.· Select suppliers impartially based on cost, product-specification compliance, operational efficiency, product quality, and timely delivery capability.· Place purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up to meet operational needs.· Source items unavailable from regular suppliers.· Complete tasks assigned by the direct manager.
