Job Purpose Statement:
To implement, monitor, and continuously improve Food Safety and QHSE standards across the catering operations. The role ensures that all stages of food handling, production, storage, and service comply with regulatory, client, and Catrion requirements. The position is responsible for maintaining safe, hygienic, and efficient kitchen operations by conducting inspections, monitoring compliance, delivering staff training, supporting audits, and promoting a strong safety and food safety culture. The role also contributes to incident prevention, environmental stewardship, and the overall enhancement of QHSE performance across the site.
Roles & Responsibility:
Conduct regular QHSE and Food Safety inspections across kitchen, storage, loading/unloading, and service areas to verify compliance with internal standards and client requirements. Monitor food handling practices including temperature control, personal hygiene, PPE usage, cross-contamination prevention, allergen control, waste segregation, and cleaning procedures. Verify raw material receiving for expiry, temperature, packaging integrity, FEFO/FIFO compliance, supplier documentation, and traceability requirements. Maintain and update QHSE documentation including risk assessments, SOPs, MSDS, manuals, checklists, calibration certificates, permits, and inspection files. Verify HACCP documentation such as CCP/OPRP logs, cooking/holding temperature records, sanitation schedules, validation/verification activities, and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly. Monitor food safety programs including pest control effectiveness, water quality monitoring, waste management, environmental hygiene, and food storage compliance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety integrity, operational hygiene, and client satisfaction. Conduct and support internal audits, client audits, and third-party certification audits (ISO/FSSC), including preparation of required evidence and documentation. Record non-conformities and support investigations for incidents, near misses, or hygiene deviations using root cause analysis tools, ensuring timely CAPA implementation. Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly QC & QHSE reports to management and share action plans for rapid resolution. Conduct Food Safety & QHSE training, toolbox talks, refresher sessions, hygiene briefings, and induction programs to ensure staff competency and compliance. Maintain updated training records and support skill development for new and existing staff. Ensure implementation of safe work practices, including chemical handling protocols, equipment safety checks, emergency preparedness, first aid readiness, and fire safety compliance. Inspect the site to ensure a hazard-free environment and verify that all tools, equipment, and thermometers are calibrated, adequate, and safe for use. Promote safe working culture across the catering operations and respond promptly to employees’ safety and food safety concerns. Coordinate with kitchen and operations teams to improve food quality, hygiene standards, and QHSE performance through proactive engagement. Maintain situational awareness of active issues, emerging risks, environmental conditions, and operational changes that may affect QHSE performance. Support the Asst. QHSE Manager and perform any additional QHSE-related tasks assigned to ensure operational continuity and compliance.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or food technology
