Position Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated Research And Development Chemist specializing in demulsifiers and drillung fluid to join our research team. The position focuses on developing advanced chemical formulations and process optimization strategies to enhance water-oil separation efficiency in petroleum production. The successful candidate will work on interdisciplinary research involving colloidal science, interfacial chemistry, and oilfield applications to address real-world challenges in the upstream oil & gas sector. Key Responsibilities:Conduct in-depth research on downstream chemical, interfacial phenomena, and the mechanisms of demulsification. Design and synthesize novel demulsifier formulations, including bio-based and environmentally friendly alternatives. Perform laboratory experiments to evaluate demulsifier performance using techniques such as bottle tests, interfacial tension measurements, microscopy, and rheology. Analyze crude oil samples and emulsions to characterize composition, droplet size distribution, and separation behavior. Collaborate with industrial partners to test formulations under field-relevant conditions. Utilize data modeling tools and statistical analysis to interpret experimental results and optimize formulations. Present research findings at academic conferences, seminars, and industry meetings. Prepare peer-reviewed publications and contribute to patent filings as applicable. Maintain accurate records, comply with safety protocols, and participate in lab management duties. Required Qualifications:Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science. Strong academic background in colloids, surfactants, emulsion science, or related fields. Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques for analyzing emulsions and chemical formulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in oilfield chemistry or upstream oil & gas research. Familiarity with demulsifiers, surfactants, polymers, or green chemistry approaches. Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals or presenting at scientific conferences. Knowledge of modeling or simulation tools for chemical processes (e.g., Aspen, MATLAB, COMSOL).
