Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage our purchasing and procurement operations on a tramway project. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in purchasing and procurement, with a strong track record of managing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Procurement:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and requirements.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  1. Vendor Management:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
  1. Purchasing Operations:
  • Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, ordering, and delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of purchase orders and resolve any issues related to procurement.
  1. Cost Management:
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce procurement costs.
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Continuously review and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions in procurement and supply chain management.
  1. Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier correspondence.
  1. Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the procurement department.
  1. Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and market trends.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and strategic planning.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement activities and vendor relationships.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba). Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
