Chief Information Officer

Purpose of the job:


• Spearhead SADAFCO IT to drive the Digital Transformation program with technology initiatives that expand and strengthen business performance.

• As a member of the extended executive management team, collaborate with peer functional leaders to identify new growth and optimization opportunities that improve customer experience and deliver corporate KPIs.

• Accountable for all IT in SADAFCO; To effectively deploy tech whilst safeguarding security of systems & data and ensuring all operational delivery meets SLA.


Key Accountabilities:


1. IT Digital Strategy, Planning, and Governance

• Drive business transformation by developing an IT strategy to implement suitable technologies to streamline operations through digitization opportunities.

• Develop delivery roadmap to utilize the IT infrastructure and Information systems to maximize efficiencies and drive cost optimization, process automation and cyber security.

• Design and evolve systems to extensively implement Automation and provide the digital backbone that elevates customer and employee experience.

• Establish formal IT Governance R&R and structure – spanning strategic business partnering to operational reviews; Chair meetings as required.


2. IT Operational Delivery

• Oversee development and implementation of data solutions, info management systems, and IT frameworks, and best-practices to ensure alignment & integration between key systems.

• Supervise the implementation of IT systems across SADAFCO business and functions to ensure adherence to security and quality standards.

• Assess and monitor the technology infrastructure (networks and systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance.

• Digital Transformation of business operations by upgrading key systems (Sales, Planning, ERP, Reporting, etc.) with the latest generation tools.


3. Financial Management

• Deliver to the agreed IT expenditure plans, having worked with leadership team to agree appropriate investment.

• Regularly review commercial processes and contracts across IT to ensure SADAFCO obtain the best commercial terms possible and extract value.


4. Team and People development

• Hire and grow a capable team using structured KPIs, success metrics, and growth objectives.

• Ensure and manage IT team with the required headcount and techno-functional competencies in line with SADAFCO’s HR policies.


5. Performance Measurement

• Deliver services and projects to the agreed KPIs and targets.

• Ensure Service Delivery and Program teams negotiate appropriate service levels and set up effective monitoring systems.


6. IT Security

• Ensure all IT systems are secure and compliant with Regulatory requirements and aligned international standards / best practices.

• Oversee delivery of the IT Security strategy that spans Technology and User education.


7. Strategic Leadership beyond IT

• Proactively support CxO & management team in advising the Board and key decision makers

• Support and empower peer functions in implementing respective digitization strategies.

• Support and challenge ways of working at corporate and functional levels.

• Introduce external technology trends and best practice governance to elevate performance.


8. ERP System Implementation and Management

• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of a robust ERP system.

• This includes selecting the appropriate ERP solution, overseeing the implementation process, and ensuring the system is effectively utilized to support business operations.

• Drive continuous improvement and optimization of the ERP system.

• This involves identifying areas for enhancement, implementing upgrades and updates, and ensuring the system aligns with evolving business needs.

• Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the ERP system.

• This includes establishing data governance policies, implementing data quality controls, and overseeing data migration and integration processes.

• Leverage the ERP system to support strategic decision-making.

• This involves developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports, providing insights into business performance, and enabling data-driven decision-making.


Job Requirements:


  • Has delivered IT strategy; proven track-record of aligning IT with Business strategy.

Education: Bachelor’s degree

  • 15+ years of experience in IT roles with increasing responsibilities; 5+ years in a senior IT management role within FMCG industry.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of technologies and methodologies; a strong desire to keep up with the changing technology landscape.
  • Expert in planning, preparing, and managing departmental OPEX and capital budgets.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and understanding of financial management.
  • Coaching and building high performing IT teams in a multicultural team environment
  • Languages: Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
  • The preference is for Saudis.
