Online Arabic Teacher for Non-Arabs

An Arabic teacher is the face of our organization with a core mission to help students learn and connect with the Quran whether through recitation, memorization, or understanding of the meaning of the Quran. You should expect to teach 8-15 students whose primary language is English. This position is an online job opportunity for an Independent Contractor where you will be working 6 days per week from home and paid hourly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating lesson plans and instructing students in both English and Arabic.
  • Providing a positive example to students by supporting lQRA’s mission of educating the next generation of Muslims who seek guidance through the Quran and the practice of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities.
  • Creating a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
  • Delivering the required curriculum with an Islamic perspective while integrating Islamic morals and values.
  • Employing a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing students, including demonstrations, discussions, and practice.
  • Integrating competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
  • Creating instructional resources for use with students including projects and homework.
  • Communicate with parents and IQRA staff to keep them abreast of students' progress.
  • Regularly meet with IQRA mentors to review performance metrics and receive feedback.
  • Maintain grade books, conduct assessments, and deliver reports for each student
  • Participate in ongoing training and Islamic learning and development sessions.
  • Attend regular meetings with the directors and staff.
  • Learn and follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Teacher's Code of Conduct.

QualificationsMore than 3 years of working experience preferred. Experience in teaching online via video conferencing programs such as zoom or Google chat.Perfect knowledge of Arabic Language rules.Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a major in Arabic Language or a related field.Excellent communication skills in English.Knowledge of and advocacy for the mission of Islamic Education.Excellent Internet connectivity and access to a quiet space.Ability to work late hours is preferred.
