Location Hydra, Algeria Job Purpose:



Leverages scientific, diagnostic, and clinical test experience that will make an impact within a large, global pharmaceutical company to help ensure understanding of the diagnostic environment, capture insights, and develop diagnostic strategies.
Ensures the timely, high quality in-market companion/complementary diagnostics and testing solutions to enable optimal patient identification and treatment throughout the patient journey. It includes providing insights into the core cross-functional team, interacting with key HCPs.
A meaningful element of the role is therefore to develop diagnostic strategies & tactical plans and establish long-term partnerships with relevant Oncology partners & decision makers in the complex Oncology ecosystem, based on a deep scientific understanding of diagnostic tests and the clinical operational issues on the testing pathway.
To work in appropriate coordination with the cross-functional team to have diagnostic understanding and deliver education as appropriate to internal and external partners and complete tactical plans with scientific expertise of the testing environment and disease/biomarker to help support clinical and diagnostic questions to facilitate optimal testing, removal of barriers and advance the scientific development of appropriate testing solutions as needed.

Key Areas of Responsibility:



Establish Testing solutions in Algeria



Testing implementation in Algeria according to locally approved products and indications and In parallel with global diagnostics strategies Reinforce local capabilities by identifying local laboratories to partner with, identify obstacles to local testing and provide solutions Ensure access to testing by establishing diagnostic networks with external partners in case local testing is not available Ensure access to testing by assessing the involvement of local reimbursement parties and the need for implementing of patient support programs or diagnostic sponsorships .

Develop and Implement diagnostic strategies



Develop, evaluate and deliver diagnostic strategy for the current and future Oncology products, Generate diagnostics-related insight to craft brand strategy and tactics Monitor and propose improvement plans for diagnostic related performance Ensure in-market companion/complementary diagnostics and testing excellence for all product launches, including market readiness evaluation implement local diagnostic plans to address unmet needs and ensure alignment with the brand plan and in parallel with global diagnostic strategies Develop and implement pre-launch Diagnostic plan/activities for new products at least 1 year prior to the planned launch in the country to address key scientific challenges Provide medical input for the development of company’s Diagnostic plans and strategy

Develop strategic partnerships



Assess different testing options in the markets and identify qualified diagnostic partners and testing labs to collaborate with Identify and collaborate with diagnostic and opinion leaders to plan and complete activities to optimise the provision of diagnostics associated with the respective brands Remove barriers to testing through collaborative partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, KOLs and HCPs Collaborate with global / international / regional diagnostic teams

Build capability



Provide AZ internal partners with an understanding of the local Diagnostic community, clinical practice, trends and real or perceived gaps in current scientific knowledge competitive intelligence Generate evidence through Dx projects collaborating with KEEs / Dx companies Deliver diagnostic related informative initiatives including meetings, exhibitions, congresses/symposia, and digital activities Give relevant partners in the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and testing labs a stronger understanding of the diagnostic landscape, challenges and potential testing solutions Develop diagnostics speakers and provide speaker education Develop informative materials related to diagnostics and biomarkers Engage, lead, and partner with all members of the cross-functional team on all diagnostic related activities to ensure AZ's Oncology products' launch readiness and efficient launch of therapy Provide internal training for sales team and sophisticated training for cross functional team related to diagnostics and biomarkers Develop and implement pre-launch/pre-implementation awareness campaigns related to diagnostics Develop own scientific knowledge and share emerging data related to testing with KEEs

Continuous monitoring and follow up on testing processes and testing quality



Supervise all implemented testing contributions and projects and assess the right use of resources Ensure all partner laboratories perform good quality and validated testing Identify issues in current testing landscape and develop solutions to remove or minimize diagnostic barriers or delays Develop and help drive diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programmes

Governance and ensuring overall adherence to processes and regulation [include but not limit to patient safety, clinical trials, promotional activities



All diagnostics contributions and activities to be lead and supervised by Diagnostic leads Ensures compliance with AZ code of conduct, Corporate Governance, Audits requirement, guidelines, codes, policies and procedures Ensures that company confidentiality is maintained (i.e. intellectual property, product, strategic and salary information) Discloses potential breach of codes or conducts Ensure all approvals processes for Diagnostic functions are in place, with respect to local approvals, Data Privacy, regulations and company processes

Minimum Criteria



​​Health Care Academic Degree; Adequate knowledge of presentation, negotiation and leadership techniques; Skill in interpersonal network relationship with internal and external customers; Scientific experience (clinical, academic) to conduct discussions with opinion leaders, KEEs and HCPs; Experience in project management; Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; Availability for business trips; English proficiency.

Desirable Criteria



Advanced academic degree (master's, phD..etc) Cluster / regional experience is a preference Experience with team and inter-team work. knowledge of market access and pharmacoeconomic; Excellent skills in presentation techniques;

So it's important to know that a day in the life of a medical information specialist is entirely different to the next. So I guess beginning with inquiries they probably only take up around five percent of my day, and there'll be some days where I don't work on inquiries.
