About the Role

Alrawaf Contracting invites applications for a Scaffolding Construction Section Head to join its team in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to managing all scaffolding and temporary access works across various projects within the region.

Role Overview

The Scaffolding Construction Section Head holds overall responsibility for the planning, engineering coordination, execution, supervision, inspection, and successful completion of all scaffolding and temporary access works. This position ensures that all scaffolding activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to approved engineering designs, project specifications, applicable Saudi regulations, international standards, approved method statements, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of scaffolding activities, from planning and mobilization through erection, modification, inspection, handover, and dismantling.
• Develop and implement scaffolding execution plans and construction strategies, optimizing manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering and temporary works teams regarding scaffold design, technical requirements, and review all related drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure engineered scaffolds are constructed precisely according to approved designs and calculations, and approve method statements and risk assessments within delegated authority.
• Maintain the highest standards of scaffolding safety, ensuring compliance with project HSE procedures, Saudi requirements, and international standards.
• Oversee all scaffold inspections, proper tagging, and verification of safety components, stopping unsafe activities as needed.
• Ensure scaffolding installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements, coordinating closely with QA/QC teams.
• Manage and supervise scaffolding subcontractors and specialist service providers, ensuring sufficient competent manpower and productivity.
• Lead scaffolding supervisors, engineers, inspectors, foremen, and crews, ensuring appropriate training and competency verification.
• Coordinate scaffolding requirements with various construction disciplines and participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings.
• Monitor scaffolding material inventory, control utilization, and coordinate with Procurement and Logistics for required materials and equipment.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly scaffolding progress reports, maintain registers, and track manpower, material consumption, and completed quantities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in scaffolding construction management within large-scale projects. A strong understanding of scaffolding engineering, safety regulations, and comprehensive project coordination is essential for this role.

Leadership and Coordination

The Section Head will lead scaffolding engineers, supervisors, inspectors, foremen, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Close coordination is required with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Procurement, and other project disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to all project specifications and international standards.

Documentation and Resource Optimization

Key responsibilities also include preparing comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly scaffolding progress reports, maintaining detailed scaffold registers, and tracking manpower and material consumption. The role emphasizes optimizing scaffold material usage to contribute to overall project cost efficiency and ensuring proper control and traceability of all scaffolding materials.
