Debt Finance Associate, Riyadh

A&O Shearman is seeking an experienced Debt Finance Associate to join its Debt Finance group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for professionals with 5-10 years of experience in general financing transactions, contributing to a dynamic and growing team in the region.

The Debt Finance Group

The Debt Finance practice at A&O Shearman holds a pre-eminent global reputation, built on supporting sponsor and lender clients in leveraged acquisition finance and high yield. The team offers broad product coverage, with specialists advising on fund finance, trade and commodities finance, and pre-IPO finance. With the recent opening of the Riyadh office, the firm is expanding its reach to advise leading investment and commercial banks, direct lenders, alternative capital providers, investment funds, financial sponsors, and corporate borrowers/issuers on all types of financings, including bonds, sukuk, and securitisation, within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on a wide variety of banking products, including general lending, project finance, asset finance, structured finance, securitisation, real estate and developmental finance, acquisition, and leveraged finance.
• Support the Global Financial Markets department on corporate and sovereign debt issuances.
• Handle both conventional and Islamic financings.
• Draft, review, and amend legal documentation.
• Provide strategic advice to clients in meetings, over the phone, and in writing.
• Manage client expectations and ensure appropriate project delivery.
• Engage in business development activities, including developing a personal plan and assisting with the implementation of business development campaigns.
• Conduct legal research as required.
