Summary

Prepares/fills compounds of sterile and non-sterile medications including anti-neoplastic agents, in accordance with accepted standards and established pharmacy policies and procedures.

1. Performs professional work in the preparation, filling,compounding, dispensing, and double checking of sterile and non sterilemedications as applicable to the area of practice.
2. Restocks, operates, and trouble shoots pharmacy roboticequipment as applicable according to different pharmacy areas.
3. Maintains control and security of all medications includingcontrolled, narcotic substances and supplies. Maintains dispensing and recordkeeping as per laws and regulations.
4. Pre-packages tablets, capsules, and oral liquid medicationsutilizing available repackaging machines /robotic equipment. Maintains completerequired records and appropriate labelling procedures.
5. Checks, and monitors medication relatedactivities/performance of new senior pharmacists, residents, trainees/studentswith guidance and support from a senior pharmacist as needed.
6. Orders/Maintains proper and sufficient inventory of drugs andsupplies with regular monitoring of medication expiration dates.Prepares expired medications for disposal andcompletes electronic disposal requests in a timely manner.
7. Distributes medications to nursing units as required.
8. Performs nursing unit/clinic inspection, and outdatedpharmacy stocks/supplies on a monthly basis as per assignment. Maintains andsigns approved forms and records accordingly.
9. Maintains a clean working environment including hoods and countertops.
10. Participates/assists in conducting performance/qualityimprovement projects.
11. Follows all Hospital’s relatedPolicies and Procedures.
12. Participates in self andothers' education, training and development, as applicable.

Diploma in Pharmacy isrequired.
