Key Responsibilities Diagnose transmission and driveline issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Inspect, repair, overhaul, and rebuild automatic and manual transmissions. Remove, install, and replace transmission assemblies and related components. Perform transmission fluid services, adjustments, and preventative maintenance. Test-drive vehicles to identify and verify transmission concerns. Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures. Use computerized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electronic transmission systems. Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to deliver efficient repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements Diploma or Technical Certification in Automotive Technology or a related field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in transmission diagnosis and repair. Strong knowledge of automatic, manual, CVT, and dual-clutch transmission systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic scanners and specialized transmission tools. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver’s license preferred. Dealership or specialized transmission workshop experience is an advantage.
