Overview:
As the Academy Translator at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will play a vital role in supporting communication across the Academy by ensuring players, coaches and staff can communicate clearly and effectively. Alongside providing accurate English-Arabic translation during football activities, you will also support the educational development of academy residency players by delivering English language sessions that help them succeed both on and off the pitch.
Key Responsibilities:
Language & Communication Support
Provide live and written translation between English and Arabic for academy coaches, players and staff. Support communication during training sessions, tactical meetings and match analysis. Translate official academy documents, training materials, reports and internal communications. Facilitate effective communication between international players and academy staff to support successful integration.
Tactical & Technical Understanding
Accurately interpret football terminology, tactical discussions and coaching instructions. Assist with the translation of tactical meetings, set-piece discussions and video analysis sessions. Ensure football-specific language is communicated clearly to support player understanding and development.
Educational Supervision & English Language Development
Design and deliver English language sessions and educational workshops for academy residency players. Teach football-specific English terminology alongside general communication and everyday language skills. Support players in developing the language skills needed for both their football and future career development.
Player & Staff Support
Support young international players as they adapt to a new football and cultural environment. Act as a mentor, helping players develop important life skills alongside their football education.
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Languages, Education, Literature or a related discipline.
Desirable:
SAFF, AFC C License. FIFA Guardian Safeguarding qualification.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
Fluency in English and Arabic (both spoken and written) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Ability to communicate clearly and confidently within a high-performance academy environment.
Desirable:
Strong understanding of football tactics, coaching methodologies and football terminology. Teaching or training experience in English language education is a strong advantage.
