We are seeking an experienced Senior Treaty Reinsurance Broker to structure, negotiate, and place treaty reinsurance programs with regional and international markets, ensuring optimal coverage, pricing, and long-term value for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Market Engagement Structure and negotiate treaty reinsurance programs (proportional and non-proportional) with reinsurers. Advise clients on treaty design, pricing, capacity, coverage terms, and conditions. Develop a deep understanding of clients' portfolios, risk appetite, and strategic objectives. Present treaty programs to the market to obtain the most competitive and advantageous terms. Manage renewals, mid-term adjustments, and ongoing treaty performance. Identify opportunities for new treaties, program optimization, and cross-selling solutions. Service allocated client accounts and provide technical support to colleagues where required.
Communication Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong and strategic relationships. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on placement strategies and client servicing. Maintain strong relationships with global reinsurers and markets; share insights and market intelligence with colleagues. Provide regular updates on treaty renewals, pricing trends, and capacity changes.
Compliance Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate treaty documentation, slips, and records in line with compliance standards.
Self-Development Contribute to and actively follow a Professional Development Plan (PDP). Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to treaty reinsurance. Stay informed of regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging risks in the reinsurance sector.
Team Leadership & Development Manage workflow effectively by delegating tasks and optimizing team resources. Support, coach, and mentor junior brokers and analysts. Conduct performance appraisals constructively and on time. Promote continuous improvement in client servicing, operational efficiency, and placement strategies.
Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., CII) preferred. Knowledge of Treaty reinsurance structures (Quota Share, Surplus, Excess of Loss, etc.). Reinsurance markets (London Market, regional and international markets). Portfolio analysis, pricing principles, and underwriting concepts. Microsoft Office and industry tools such as Crystal, SARB, Twins, and Lloyd's QA Tool. Product development and treaty reinsurance support. Project management of analytics and consulting projects. Experience5–8+ years of experience in reinsurance brokerage or underwriting.
