Hiring: Senior Platform Engineer Riyadh (12 month freelance, on site)

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a major technology programme in Riyadh on a 12 month freelance contract . This role is 100% on site, 5 days per week (40 hours) .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform across GCP and OCI .
• Operate, maintain, and optimise managed Kubernetes environments ( GKE & OKE ).
• Manage core platform components: Kong API Gateway , Istio/Service Mesh , Vault , ExternalDNS .
• Implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and integrate CI/CD pipelines for seamless delivery.
• Deploy, configure, and support observability tooling: Dynatrace , Prometheus , Alertmanager , Grafana .
• Strengthen platform security through SAST , DAST , RBAC , mTLS , image scanning, and broader DevSecOps controls.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and execution aligned with RTO/RPO targets and SAMA IT Governance .

Desired Candidate Profile

• Senior level experience in cloud platform engineering
• Strong hands on background with GCP , OCI , Terraform , and Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of GitOps, service mesh, API gateways, and observability stacks
• Strong security mindset and experience with DevSecOps tooling
• Able to work full time on site in Riyadh
