1. JOB PURPOSEThe Senior Interior Design Architect is responsible for managing the DSA Site Supervision team, for the interior design scope, ensuring compliance with construction & Employer contracts and quality standards while managing the pre-engineering and associated synchronization process and effectively coordinate with various stakeholders and facilitate successful project delivery.
1. Leadership & Team Management Lead and supervise the Interior Design Site Supervision team. Manage Assistant Interior Architects, Inspectors, Document Controllers, and support staff. Define roles, responsibilities, reporting lines, and staffing plans. Manage leave, timesheets, performance, and staff development.2. Contract Administration & Compliance Review and understand project contract requirements. Ensure compliance with Employer, Consultant, and Contractor obligations. Implement DSA QA/QC procedures and project standards. Monitor contractual communications and instructions.3. Site Mobilization & Pre-Construction Activities Verify site benchmarks, set-out points, and existing conditions. Review Contractor Health & Safety Plans. Review Contractor QA/QC Manuals. Establish project procedures, reporting systems, and documentation controls.4. Document Control & Administration Maintain all drawings, specifications, schedules, revisions, and records. Manage incoming/outgoing correspondence. Control document registers, filing systems, FTP platforms, and electronic archives. Track RFIs, submittals, instructions, and project communications.5. Meetings & Stakeholder Coordination Organize and lead technical, QA/QC, workshop, and close-out meetings. Attend progress meetings and coordinate actions. Prepare agendas, minutes, action logs, and status reports. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.6. Quality Assurance & Quality Control Establish inspection criteria, quality standards, and procedures. Review and approve ITPs, Method Statements, QA documentation, and mock-ups. Conduct site inspections and monitor work quality. Manage Non-Conformance Notices (NCNs) and Site Observations (CSOs). Ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out.7. Contractor Management Review and respond to:RFIsShop Drawings Material Submittals Method Statements Progress Reports Construction Programs Payment Applications Monitor contractor performance and compliance.8. Site Inspection & Progress Monitoring Conduct ongoing site inspections. Monitor construction progress against approved documents. Maintain daily diaries, inspection records, and progress reports. Coordinate off-site inspections, factory visits, and testing.9. Safety & Site Housekeeping Oversight Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements. Ensure protection of workers, public areas, completed works, and live services. Verify safe temporary works and construction methodologies.10. Design Coordination & Technical Support Resolve design issues during construction. Coordinate between consultants, contractors, and client representatives. Support design changes, value engineering, and construction solutions. Facilitate approvals of materials, finishes, and design amendments.11. Change Management & Value Engineering Support RFCs and change management processes. Assess technical impacts of proposed changes. Review value engineering proposals while protecting design intent and quality.12. Local Authority Approvals Coordinate authority submissions and approvals. Monitor submission status and approval programs. Liaise with authorities and specialist consultants.13. Progress Reporting & Records Management Maintain:Daily site diary Inspection records Photographic records RFI logs Submittal logs NCN and CSO registers Snagging and de-snagging trackers Prepare weekly and monthly status reports.14. Project Close-Out & Handover Lead final inspections and snagging activities. Monitor de-snagging and defect closure. Review:As-built drawings O&M Manuals Training documentation Close-out programs Support issuance of Taking Over Certificates and project handover.
Although you have been employed to perform duties as is required of your position, you may be required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected of you within DSA from time to time.
3. QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS• Engineering / Architectural or Interior diploma or an equivalent degree /certification.• 10-15 years of site experience.• Middle East hospitality experience is preferred.• Proficient with FIDIC Contract Implementation.• Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team is a must.• Aconex, Bluebeam, Acrobat, Auto CAD, Office, Snagging (Field, SNAGR, 4P, other). Revit would be advantageous.
