Responsibilities
HSE Compliance & Auditing: Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments for specialized wind turbine installation tasks, including crane operations and working at heights. Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analysis for any incidents, near-misses, or environmental spills, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Training & Culture: Deliver toolbox talks and specialized training (e.g., LOTO, confined spaces) to site workers, contractors, and engineers to cultivate a strong safety culture. Environmental Management: Monitor environmental impacts, such as noise, waste management, and habitat protection in compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. Emergency Preparedness: Develop site-specific emergency response plans tailored to remote Saudi desert or coastal environments, including rescue procedures for turbine nacelles.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering. Experience: Typically 5 to 10 years of progressive HSE experience, with a background in major renewable energy, EPC, or large-scale infrastructure projects. Certifications: Mandatory possession of certifications like NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or IOSH. Advanced safety memberships (e.g., CSP, IOSH) are highly preferred. Local Standards: Working knowledge of Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) guidelines, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) requirements, and ISO standards (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
