Roles & Responsibilities

To prepare, protect, and coat steel casting and forging components using approved painting and surface protection methods to ensure corrosion resistance, customer compliance, and quality standards

Job Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation of castings and forgings by cleaning, shot blasting, or removing rust, oil, and scale before painting.
• Prepare and mix paints according to technical specifications, ensuring correct viscosity and material ratios.
• Apply paint coatings using spray, dip, brush, or roller methods as per approved procedures.
• Ensure uniform coating applications with required thickness and surface finish standards.
• Measure and record dry film thickness (DFT) to confirm compliance with specified micron requirements.
• Monitor drying and curing processes to ensure proper coating adhesion and performance.
• Inspect painted components for defects such as runs, peeling, blistering, or uneven coverage and perform rework if required.
• Maintain accurate records of paint usage, batch traceability, and production data.
• Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE while handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure proper storage of paints and consumables.
• Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations to the supervisor for corrective action.

Desired Candidate Profile

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 5 years experience in painting field of heavy metal industry.

Ability to understand the work instructions for painting operations.

Ability to safely and properly use the necessary tools and equipment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
