Role Information
Position Title: Training Director Reports to: CEO


Role Description The Training Director is responsible for leading and managing the training programs within the Academy. This involves developing and overseeing the training curriculum, managing Training Provider Partners, ensuring compliance with training accreditation and certification standards, and fostering partnerships with training sponsors. The Training Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of training the Academy provides, supporting trainee success, and maintaining the Academy’s reputation for excellence in technical and vocational training.
Role Accountabilities
Leadership Partner with the Academy leadership to establish, develop and implement the Academy’s vision, mission, and values. Partner with the Academy leadership to accomplish short and long-term strategic and operational goals. Partner with Academy leadership to design and deploy comprehensive KPI Framework that drives excellence across Training Operations. Communicate with the Academy leadership on any Training Operations performance and developments effectively and in a timely manner. Empower Training Operations team with leadership and resources they require to successfully complete objectives. Support and represent Academy leadership with partners and stakeholders. Support and represent Academy leadership with regulators, such as TVTC, Colleges of Excellence, HRDF, and ETEC. Support and represent Academy leadership with Board and Board Committees meetings and reviews. Drive diversity, equality, and inclusion agenda in Training Operations by creating a learning environment that is SEND friendly and embraces diversity, ensuring the availability of necessary resources for all Trainee to succeed, and inclusion by ensuring that everyone feels valued and engaged. Drive sustainability agenda across Training Operations, working closely with Academy departments on sustainability interventions.
Business Planning Develop and oversee the implementation of annual training operations activities, including academic activities such as admission and graduation cycles. Develop and control all operational budgets to ensure that the Academy has all the resources required to meet its objectives within the agreed financial timescale. Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial/budget reporting to the CEO in a timely manner.
Training Planning and Execution Partner with Business Development and Academic Partner, to develop and mature training needs from Training Sponsors. Design and develop work-ready and immersive curricula based on the learning objectives of Training Sponsors. Oversee readiness of Academy for all training intakes, including working closely with HR, Facilities Management, HSE, IT, and Training Affairs on operational plans for intake admission readiness. Oversee readiness of Academy for all training intakes, including working closely with Training Provider Partner(s), Curriculum Design & Development, and Training Management teams on educational readiness – such as ensuring the availability of educational kits and equipment. Continuously evaluate and improve the intake admission activities with a view to improve the candidate experience. Oversee academic personnel appointments, developments, and/or removal in the Training Provider Partner(s) organization, such as training manager(s), STEM teachers, IT teachers, Chemistry teachers, Physics teacher, and other academic support staff (e.g., trainee counselors) according to established minimum qualifications matrix.
Training Governance Establish and implement Training Operations suite of policies, procedures, and processes relating to trainee experience and voice; and curriculum and courseware. Establish and implement training quality suite of policies, procedures, and processes relating to accreditations and certifications. Oversee the performance and compliance of Training Provider Partner(s) with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and key performance indicators. Consult with Training Provider Partner(s) on any operational and academic non-compliances and apply penalties as deemed appropriate.
Training Compliance and Excellence Ensure Training Operations are compliant with established policies and procedures, and facilitate any planned or spot assurance activities such as quality reviews and/or internal audit. Ensure Training Operations are compliant with regulatory requirements to maintain academic accreditations and certifications (e.g., ETEC), and facilitate any assurance activities. Lead all activities to qualify the Academy as approved supplier with current and prospective Training Sponsors.
Training Technologies Leverage technology in training, overseeing all activities to support the use of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g., blackboard; learner management systems; campus solutions) to ensure the Academy training operations are automated and seamless. Continuously review the Academy Enterprise Resource Planning systems with a view to enhance the Training Sponsors and Trainee Experiences.
Customer Experience & Satisfaction Oversee the design, development, and implementation of a customer experience strategy that takes into consideration Training Sponsors experience and Trainee experience. Ensure the Academy training facilities are inclusive and intergenerational.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, or any relevant STEM field.10 or more years of progressive experience in technical and vocational training, 5 of which in executive positions.knowledge of local and international TVET practices, regulations, and technical and vocation accreditations and certifications. Native Arabic and Professional English is required. Experience in international companies is a plus, preferably in defense and/or technical and vocational training settings. Certifications in KPIs, Project Management, Business Continuity, and/or Instructional Design is preferable.
