About the job Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Job Purpose

Execute mechanical maintenance activities and failure analysis for Reheating Furnace, Rolling Mill, and Finishing Facilities to ensure maximum equipment availability, support production targets, and maintain high quality with optimized cost.

Key Result Areas (KRA)
1. Maintenance and Shutdown Planning


  • Execute mechanical maintenance plans in coordination with rolling mill operations


  • Assess mechanical failures and recommend effective corrective actions


  • Ensure availability of required mechanical spare parts


  • Minimize unplanned shutdown time due to mechanical issues


2. Financial Oversight


  • Support preparation of annual maintenance budget and material requirements


  • Follow up on procurement and timely delivery of consumables and spare parts


  • Monitor and control budget variance


3. Reporting and Documentation


  • Prepare technical reports and operating manuals as required


  • Ensure timely and high-quality reporting


4. Employee Relations & Development


  • Ensure compliance with HSE training requirements


  • Encourage continuous learning and skill development


  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely manner


  • Promote teamwork and a safe working environment


Communication & Working Relationships


  • Internal: Coordination with all relevant O&M functions


  • External: Interaction with contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers


Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Technical Diploma


Experience


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the steel industry, specifically in rolling mills


Skills


  • Strong leadership and team management skills


  • Result-oriented with hands-on operational approach


  • Good planning and organizational abilities


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Effective communication (written and verbal in English)


  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and SAP
