Job Purpose The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial transactions, reporting, and cost control activities of the MRO operations. The role ensures accurate and timely recording of revenue, expenses, and contract-related financials in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Transactions & Reporting Record and reconcile daily accounting transactions related to MRO activities (parts, labor, subcontracting, and overheads). Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure proper allocation of expenses to projects and contracts. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies. Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.
2. Cost Control & Contract Accounting Track and analyze contract costs, including labor hours, spare parts, consumables, and subcontracted services. Support work-in-progress (WIP) tracking and cost-to-complete analysis for ongoing MRO projects. Assist in revenue recognition based on percentage-of-completion or point-in-time methods as applicable. Reconcile inventory movements (spare parts and tools) with maintenance records.
3. Compliance & Audit Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
4. Financial Analysis & Reporting Support Prepare variance analysis (budget vs. actual) for MRO projects and highlight key financial risks or opportunities. Provide cost data and financial insights to operations and management for decision-making.
5. Continuous Improvement Assist in streamlining accounting processes related to MRO operations, including automation of reporting and cost tracking. Support initiatives to optimize cost efficiency and improve financial control within the maintenance operations.

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in aviation MRO, aerospace, or heavy maintenance industries. Basic knowledge of contract accounting, job costing, and inventory control. Intermediate knowledge in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized MRO systems). Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
