We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented HSE Inspector to oversee and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance on the project. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in monitoring and implementing HSE practices on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, ensuring all site activities are conducted safely and in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with the HSE plan and regulations.
- Identify unsafe conditions, practices, or hazards and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with local and international HSE standards, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Review and verify risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and lifting plans.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and preparation of reports.
- Monitor and enforce the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adherence to safe work procedures.
- Support the implementation of the HSE Management System (HSEMS) on-site.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, violations, corrective actions, and HSE performance.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness campaigns.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and the client on HSE matters and participate in HSE coordination meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant HSE experience, including at least 5 years in a PMC or consultancy environment.
- In-depth knowledge of construction HSE practices, regulations, and standards.
- Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, confined space, working at heights, lifting operations, and hot work.
- Proficient in incident reporting, safety documentation, and audit systems.
- Excellent observation, communication, and reporting skills.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification (preferred)
- ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Auditor Certification (preferred)
