To plan and supervise seismic surveys and other applications of geophysical technologies ensuring provision of necessary preparation and arrangement for execution of seismic survey projects including contracts, Government permission and budgetary procedures and supervise the seismic data acquisition and processing while conducting assessment of data quality and preparing seismic operational reports.

Skills

• Assists in the implementation of section policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.


• Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Khafji B1 Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.


• Supports the Supervisor in technical evaluation and verification of contractors’ pre-qualification documents and assessment of each contactor’s capabilities, to ensure selection of appropriately qualified contractors at the optimum price and required standards.


• Provides specialized support during the execution of contracts to ensure that both contracting parties fulfil their obligations.


• Plans and prepares scope of work for seismic survey projects based on Company’s long term exploration and development plan.


• Performs market survey and site inspection for procurement of seismic survey services. Initiates authorization formalities under the direction of the Supervisor for execution of seismic survey projects.


• Checks on the mobilisation progress and the survey progress.  Inspects the contractor’s vessel and equipment to ensure compliance with contract specifications.


• Assists the contractor to obtain governments’ permission for offshore operation and supervises the seismic data acquisition to ensure the safe and smooth operation and quality of data production.


• Monitors Navigation data and seismic data while supporting logistics for G&G operations such as import/transportation of equipment, hardware/software for marine seismic data acquisition/processing/interpretation, data storage and handling, and coordination with Contractors.


• Merges the new 2D or 3D seismic data received from contractors in order to analyse and interpret the data to identify prospects.


• Supervises the seismic data processing to ensure good quality of seismic processed data.


• Performs test processing for appropriation of processing parameters and sequence. Checks and approves the final products and reports prepared by contractor. Prepares seismic survey operational reports for approval by supervisor and distribution to Management and Host Governments.


• Performs seismic attribute analyses, velocity analyses and synthetic seismogram analyses, and constructs geo-cellular models, and verifies integrated static model.


• Performs volumetric reserves evaluation. Collects latest information on new technologies and methods, and recommends application of such technologies/methods to G&G characterization and modeling activities.


• Develops a portfolio of prospects as potential locations for defining the strengths and weaknesses and risks involved in potential drilling locations per well in order to select a shortlist of prospects to make a commitment to drill.


• Prepares structure maps for key horizons and the depth conversion to enable calculation of oil and gas volumes while assessing the risk of proven, probable and possible volumes of oil and gas in place.


• Conduct more detailed and expensive 3D seismic on the above territories/discoveries and repeat the above process to more accurately assess the potential of the territory with in Khafji B1 Assets.


• Define the locations of wells to address the issues of volumes of hydrocarbons to be recovered.


• Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.


• Assists the Supervisor in annual budget preparation, review and control on expenditures, in line with annual EDD departmental budget and annual operational plans.


• Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.


• Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
