Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Calibration and Measurement Standards Specialist to manage the calibration, testing, and maintenance of measurement standards. This position will be responsible for conducting cross-checks, proficiency testing, analyzing equipment failure trends, and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing calibration procedures, providing technical assistance, and leading quality assurance programs to maintain accuracy and reliability in all equipment and measurement systems.
Key Responsibilities:1. Conduct Measurement Standard Equipment Cross-Check:Perform regular cross-checks of measurement equipment to ensure accurate calibration and consistency. Use transfer standards to compare and verify measurement instruments, ensuring conformity to national or international standards. Conduct proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparison tests to verify measurement accuracy and consistency. Identify and address discrepancies through corrective actions and continuous improvement practices.2. Develop Test and Calibration Procedures:Write and maintain calibration procedures based on NCSLI RP and SOP standards. Differentiate between manufacturer’s manuals and OEM manuals to ensure accurate procedures and methodologies. Select and define appropriate test and calibration methods for equipment and measurement instruments. Develop and maintain both non-standard and laboratory-developed methods for calibration when necessary.3. Analyze Equipment Failure Trends:Evaluate the reliability of measurement equipment and analyze failure trends to identify areas for improvement. Declare out-of-tolerance conditions and determine appropriate calibration intervals. Issue out-of-calibration reports and evaluate non-conformance work. Apply decision rules to declare in or out-of-tolerance conditions and recommend actions to resolve issues.4.
