Role Purpose: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the supply chain functions (procurement, logistics, material management, warehousing, and supplier relations) by establishing policies, procedures, controls, and follow-up, and ensuring their implementation. Leading supply chain activities to ensure optimal inventory levels, best value purchasing, and minimized transportation costs. Create and lead the S&OP process with all concerned departments to ensure the balance between Supply & Demand.
Key Accountabilities: 1- Strategy & Planning Defining and recommending strategies and processes for optimal supply chain operations. Setting overall performance targets; controlling them in order to continuously improve service level with minimum costs. Developing and implementing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts and supply agreements for goods in collaboration with other functional business departments. Developing a plan, based on the expected sales volumes, resulting in optimal support systems and logistics infrastructure at optimal costs to create the required competitive edge. Ensuring, within the agreed budget boundaries and overall long term plan, an optimal availability of the required logistics infrastructure/ including material, stock management systems and assets, transport & warehouse facilities, and others/ necessary to perform logistics activities at minimal cost and desired quality. Acting as a strategic link between Finance and Sales and ensuring true execution of organizational short-term and long term goals and objectives. Developing an integrated SCM Strategy, aligned with the Company’s SCM Strategy to optimize resources and minimize costs. Provide feedback on opportunities for further development and improvements. Conduct market analysis and develop contingency plans.
2- Operations Supporting management on opportunities and solutions to develop an effective Supply Chain organization so that the function is able to perform in response to business needs. Planning, developing, organizing and directing the supply chain function (including material planning, procurement & logistics) to ensure timely availability of all materials at the right place and at the right cost whilst meeting company’s quality standards in order to ensure timely delivery. Providing an effective exchange of information on all supply chain related matters in order to ensure accurate and cost efficient solutions related to stock management and delivery procedures to internal and external customers. Developing, implementing and managing stock control policies and procedures to ensure that stock levels of all materials are kept at the optimum levels in order to minimize costs while ensuring operations continuity and no OOS situations. Planning, organizing, directing and controlling warehousing requirements for all materials and finished goods to allow for proper and safe storage at the lowest possible cost. Ensuring that the import of materials is handled in accordance with the provisions of law and company’s standards. Developing and implementing logistics which will effectively and economically meet the import, domestic and export transportation in order to ensure that goods/material are transported in the most efficient, safe and timely manner. Making sure, In cooperation with the Finance department, that all transported and stored materials and finished goods and other Company assets are properly insured. Ensuring that all employees and activities adhere to safety, security, fire prevention and environmental protection (waste disposal) regulations and legal standards whilst being in line with company’s policies. Working as strategic partner with suppliers, distributors and customers, creating communication channels for critical information and operational improvement such as cross docking, direct shipping and 3rd party logistics. Upholding corporate integrity and values, ensuring all supply chain activities comply with company’s policies and procedures. Representing the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company and promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
3- Team management Managing the department staff on dimensions including time management, quality of work etc so that are carried out effectively and efficiently. Identifying the training and developmental priorities of the department in consultation with department and Human Resources department and ensure that staff are adequately skilled to meet future requirements. Coaching and mentoring staff as appropriate to improve performance and ensure they keep abreast of technical developments, relevant regulations, and best practice
Job Specifications:A minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Knowledge about Government laws affecting supply chain operations. International supply chain requirements
