Job Purpose:

The role will be responsible for the delivery of field Operations and maintenance activities across Dry MV utility infrastructure including power generation plants, within the infrastructure realm of RSU, ensuring seamless support for all field-based users of Dry Utilities services. 

This role will be in-charge of planning & handling end to end field operations and maintenance processes specific to Dry MV utility infrastructure within RSU. He / She shall ensure flawless functional execution towards up-keep of necessary Dry MV infrastructure through on-site teams deployed on-ground by providing clear directions & necessary decision support. This role shall also contribute towards promoting continuous improvement across operational methods adopted by the department.  

The role will work closely with all RSU / RSG departments together with the asset owners.   

The role will also assist in managing the maintenance and reliability strategy, field operational objectives, and field maintenance operations. Ensure overall functioning of field operations and maintenance within stipulated budget and timelines established within RSU.

Job Responsibilites:

Strategic Contribution :

• Assist in the development and implementation of the annual business plan for RSU Field Operations & Maintenance by providing necessary inputs around maintenance & up-keep of Dry utilities within RSU. 

• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives focusing on optimization of the field operations and maintenance activities across Dry utilities.  

• Support in the formulation of functional strategies and roadmaps required to manage seamless delivery of field operations & maintenance services across Dry utilities thereby aligned to RSU goals. 

• Support the incorporation of new technologies around Dry utilities to enhance reliability and efficiency of utility services. 

• Support in ensuring production strategies and processes specific to Dry utilities meet RSU’s objectives in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets. 

• Ensure maintenance and operation of all Dry utility assets (design, delivery and commissioning of generation, transmission and distribution power systems and networks) to maximum efficiency and reliability. 

• Ensure prompt attending to operational faults or maintenance repairs within Dry utilities section and provide resolution within agreed timelines. 

Field Operations & Maintenance :

• Ensure smooth running of daily operational activities concerning field operations and maintenance across Dry utility facilities (medium voltage infrastructure) through provisioning of prompt and efficient service delivery to customers. 

• Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies aimed at improving the performance of field operations across Dry utilities (medium voltage) and ensuring the reliability and quality of services offered. 

• Ensure periodic monitoring of on-ground Dry utility MV facilities and Dry Utility MV infrastructure related equipment conditions as per the guidelines and identify opportunities for preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal availability and reliability. 

• Ensure timely allocation of the field workforce to the site in-order to manage normal or disturbed state operations, responding to emergency, and restoring the power supply. 

• Implement corrective actions identified specific to Dry MV utilities during emergencies, operational disruptions, equipment breakdowns, or quality concerns, under the guidance of the leadership team.

  Support in managing escalations of risks and coordinating responses to minimize operational impact across Dry utilities. 

  Proactively manage compliance across processes, guidelines, and operational efficiency measures, within the purview of field operations and maintenance across Dry MV utilities under the guidance of the leadership team 

  • Assist in handling escalations related to compliance issues and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. 

  • Support the adoption of technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction within field operations and maintenance across Dry MV utilities. 

  • Provide relevant inputs to leadership regarding the improvement of operational procedures within the field operations & maintenance function pertaining to Dry MV utilities, substantiating with relevant on-ground data points & functional logs. 

  • Ensure supervision of on-ground system maintenance activities, including regular on-site checks, repairs, and component replacements across Dry MV utilities. 

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, laws, regulations, and safety guidelines within field operations and maintenance activities specific to Dry MV utilities. 

  • Partner with teams to promote safety, sustainability, quality, production, and reliability within field operations and maintenance functions. 

  • Manage oversight & interaction with the PPP Company on aspects around power O&M in terms of reviewing O&M procedures and maintenance schedules received from them, provide alternative periods for rescheduling maintenance schedules whenever necessary & liaise with end user / contractor to confirm on carrying out of planned maintenance activities. 

  • Manage the issuance and closure of work permits required to manage power distribution network outages (planned maintenance) in the enterprise asset management (EAM) system and ensure meticulous updating of maintenance records. 

  • Manage the MV power distribution network unplanned outages, including review of rectification plans, providing work permits, closing permits post-rectification, communicating with customers, and updating EAM records. 

  • Manage the control and operating of the local MV power distribution network parameters, coordinate with Marafiq on high-severity planned outages, and organize field operations for all severity-related network incidents. 

  • Manage the monitoring of MV power distribution network parameters, oversee network analysis, and prepare network load reports in line with operational guidelines. 

  • Coordinate with operations following required MV power distribution network outage notifications and manage the dispatch of staff to site for troubleshooting and fault identification. 

   

  Risk Management :

   

  • Identify different aspects of risk pertaining to Dry MV utilities field operations and maintenance and develop mitigation measures to negate or minimize the effect of these risks and avoid potential delays as well as added cost. 

  • Report regularly on the key business risks specific to Dry MV utilities field operations and maintenance to the management. 

   

  Leadership and People Management  :

   

  • Coordinate the activities of any suppliers or vendors pertaining to Dry MV utilities field operations & maintenance to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures. 

  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance. 

  • Relay the team’s needs for necessary resources and requirements to senior management.

   

  Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports 

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.  

  • Prepare accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards. 

  • Analyze operational and maintenance-related processes to eliminate redundancy and identifying potential avenues for merges across workstreams thereby improving the overall operational performance.

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to the department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. 

  • Assess operational processes and develop improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and continuously enhance reliability. 

  • Ensure that all operations are carried out according to best practices and standards, adopt technology to improve efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. 

   

  Qualification and Experience  

  • Bachelor's or similar.  

  • Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in a similar role, preferably large sustainable infrastructure utilities project. 

  • Experience in KSA / GCC countries preferred 

  • Strong technical and operational understanding of Dry Utility systems (Medium & Low Voltage)
