The Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and control of water supply and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient service. The role supports day-to-day operations of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure in compliance with operational, environmental, and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate water and wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure systems in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Monitor treatment processes, equipment performance, and system parameters including flow, pressure, levels, and water quality indicators.
- Perform routine operational checks of pumps, valves, filters, blowers, tanks, and treatment units.
- Respond to alarms, operational deviations, and equipment malfunctions, taking corrective actions and escalating issues when required.
- Coordinate with control room, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth and continuous operations.
- Support startup, shutdown, and emergency operations of water and wastewater facilities.
- Record operational data, log readings, and prepare shift handover reports.
- Ensure compliance with water quality standards, environmental regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Assist during commissioning, testing, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment processes.
Skills
- Experience as an Operator in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
