We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team in the hardware and building materials industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support our business decisions. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reports, and collaborating with various departments to ensure financial integrity. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  2. Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  3. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis of variances.
  4. Ensure compliance with local and international accounting regulations and standards.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  6. Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes to avoid penalties.
  7. Perform internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and processes.
  8. Respond to inquiries from management and external auditors regarding financial matters.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  10. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably within the hardware and building materials sector.
  2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  3. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  6. Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and present financial information clearly.
  7. Problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  8. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  9. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  10. Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity in handling financial information.
