. Role Purpose
The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for the complete maintenance, installation, and repair of all industrial catering kitchen equipment. This includes ovens, refrigerators, freezers, chillers, dishwashers, cooking ranges, and all related mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems. The role ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with health, safety, and SFDA regulations while minimizing operational downtime. The technician must be able to read, understand, and interpret all MEP drawings and technical layouts for commercial kitchens.
. Key Responsibilities
• Ensure full ownership of kitchen equipment maintenance and quality.
• Read and interpret all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas, and kitchen layout drawings.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs on all commercial kitchen equipment.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and identify potential failures early.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose breakdowns quickly to reduce downtime.
• Install and commission new kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Ensure all activities comply with Saudi standards, safety protocols, and SFDA regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation (logs, reports, checklists, spare parts usage).
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly.
• Coordinate with operations and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
• Technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in maintaining commercial/industrial kitchen equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical operations, gas lines, refrigeration, and ventilation.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and MEP drawings.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (multimeter, gauges, leak detectors).
• English required; Arabic is an advantage.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in fast-paced environments.
• Valid Saudi driving license preferred.
