Job Title: Woodwork Estimator

Job Summary:

The Woodwork Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for joinery, furniture, and interior fit-out projects. This role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, and material requirements to ensure that all estimates align with client expectations and company profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review architectural drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labor, and time costs.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and quotations for woodworking, cabinetry, and custom joinery projects.
• Source and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with the design, production, and procurement teams to clarify details and ensure feasibility.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering solutions.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of material prices, labor rates, and supplier information.
• Attend project meetings and liaise with clients or contractors to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and bid submissions.
• Monitor ongoing projects to compare estimated versus actual costs and adjust future estimates accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as an Estimator in woodworking, joinery, or fit-out industry.
• Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, finishes, and production methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in woodwork or joinery estimation.
• Experience in commercial interiors, furniture manufacturing, or custom joinery projects.
• Understanding of site measurements and shop drawings.
