· Execution and Supervision:
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical or electrical systems (depending on specialization) according to approved drawings, specifications, and methods.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
- Monitor the progress of mechanical or electrical works and report any deviations from the schedule to the Project Manager.
- Ensure the quality of workmanship and materials used on site, conducting regular inspections and addressing any non-conformances.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with the overall project plan and specifications.
· Technical Support and Problem Solving:
- Provide technical clarification and support to the construction team and subcontractors regarding mechanical or electrical aspects of the project.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise on site in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals for mechanical or electrical components, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
· Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, other site engineers, architects, consultants, and client representatives.
- Attend site meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and coordinate activities.
- Prepare regular progress reports on mechanical or electrical works for the Project Manager.
· Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all mechanical or electrical works are carried out in accordance with the project's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plan.
- Identify and report any unsafe practices or potential hazards on site.
· Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and installations related to mechanical or electrical works.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and other project documentation.
Skills
Mandatory:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems in buildings (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, fire protection for Mechanical; power distribution, lighting, ELV systems for Electrical).
- Familiarity with relevant local and international construction codes and standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office Suite).
Preferred:
- Professional Engineering License or membership in a relevant professional body.
- Experience working on projects similar in scale and type to those undertaken.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes.
- Familiarity with local regulations and authority approval processes in Saudi Arabia.
