ROLE OVERVIEW

The Contract Manager shall assist the Senior Contract Manager in managing the lifecycle of the contract from signature to closure and drives the contract performance and compliance along with the support of Commercial and Procurement.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

Contract Manager Role

The Contract Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Involved in Source to Contract phase to provide inputs to relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets to ensure that the key organization interests are captured and covered in the contract.
  • Preparation of contract documentation including negotiation as required and ensuring compliance with the applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the Senior Contract Manager is consulted for any strategic decisions, contract variations, or approvals for complex contracts.
  • Document all contract activities to ensure that an auditable history of the development of all contracts is available.
  • Assist Senior Contract Manager in closely monitoring handover phase to ensure buyers have accurately completed the necessary templates and provided required information to the CM team.
  • Assist Senior Contract Manager in contract management reviews (setting, analysis and monitoring of KPI’s) via regular cadence.
  • Facilitate and own the record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
  • Active administration of contracts and completion of contract close-out activities, including preparation of extensions or renewals, and / or short cancelation, as required.
  • Ensure alignment to standards, procedures, and templates set by the CoE Contract Process Owner.
  • Recognize procurement negotiation issues, provide options and make informed assessments of negotiation arguments.
  • Ensure the contracted services are delivered in accordance with the intent of the contract, risks are identified and performance effectively managed.
  • Escalate any contractual deviations to the Senior Contract Manager or legal department & closely follow-up legal actions as a result of any contractual deviations.
  • Support the relevant stakeholders in developing related materials to implement innovative performance and measurement metrics and incentive schemes in alignment with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide input on suppliers/vendors payment processing, in accordance with the contract.
  • Liaise with Shared Services as necessary for all contract procurement workflows which require inputs or actions thereto. The liaison shall be mainly with the Procurement, Accounting, Legal & Insurance, SRM and the Finance Department.
  • Assist Senior Contract Manager in stakeholder communications regarding contractual updates, changes, amendments and overall performance, and provide guidance on complex issues.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in contract development and management.
  • Solid knowledge of legal and financial requirements pertaining to contracts.
  • Understanding of and experience in contract development and management utilizing internal processes, guidelines, and templates.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement capabilities.
  • Fluency in English language both written and spoken.

 

The following skills could be considered a plus:

  • Arabic speaker.
  • Knowledge of contract management on SAP Ariba.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Contracts Management or related field.
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) – advantageous.
