Job Purpose:
Responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic insights on microgrids and battery storage solutions that could be leveraged across TRSUC. This role will serve as center of expertise internally for the technical services function & shall utilize extensive knowledge of new energy technologies, market trends, and policy frameworks to develop and implement innovative microgrids & battery storage solutions that shall drive sustainable growth for TRSUC.
This role will be key in developing microgrid and battery storage solutions that can be scaled, and will need to understand the complexities around off-grid applications.
The role will also provide consultancy services to other organizations or ministries which need support around microgrids and battery storage
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Contribution

Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, technological innovations and stay updated on policy developments in the microgrid and battery storage domains to provide informed recommendations relevant to the business
Functional Responsibilities

Design battery storage systems to support peak shaving, load shifting, and grid stabilization functions, while optimizing battery lifespan and performance.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Apply safety, quality and environmental management policy, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude
Relationship Management

Collaborate with government agencies, industry associations, research institutions, and other key stakeholders to foster strategic partnerships and drive collaborative initiatives in the microgrids and battery storage space

Collaborate with external vendors, who are leaders in the field, and bring their expertise to TRSUC through meetings, discussions, forums etc
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities within microgrids and battery storage space for continuous improvement of the TRSUC function’s systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, business process improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement
Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, or a related field

Minimum 8-12 years of experience in energy consulting, microgrids, battery storage or a related area in utility services, preferably in the off-grid sector

Good understanding of microgrids, battery storage & energy policies, regulations, and market dynamics at the local, regional and international levels
