Position Summary:
The Project Director – Operations and Maintenance of Data Center is responsible for leading the overall operations, maintenance, and management of a data center facility. This includes ensuring high availability, optimal performance, compliance with safety and industry standards, and efficient management of resources. The role requires strategic oversight, operational excellence, and a proactive approach to maintain uptime and client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of the data center.
- Manage critical infrastructure, including power systems, cooling systems, fire suppression, and IT hardware.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, such as ISO 27001, TIA-942, or Uptime Institute standards.
- Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Develop and manage the budget for operations and maintenance activities.
- Optimize costs by identifying areas for efficiency improvements and negotiating vendor contracts.
- Analyze financial reports to ensure alignment with business goals and budget targets.
- Oversee contracts and relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, management, and IT teams, to align operational objectives.
- Lead a team of technical and operational staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data center operations.
- Implement new tools, systems, and processes to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data center operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and IT systems.
- Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or equivalent.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent in IT Service Management.
