Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination and Design:
- Lead and oversee the preparation of technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with the design team, consultants, and contractors to ensure accurate interpretation of architectural designs.
- Review design drawings and technical specifications to identify discrepancies, errors, and areas for improvement.
- Provide technical support during the design phase to ensure the designs meet all functional, regulatory, and aesthetic requirements.
- Preparation of Shop Drawings:
- Prepare and review detailed shop drawings, ensuring compliance with the design specifications and project requirements.
- Ensure that all drawings are in accordance with building codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that the shop drawings are accurately implemented on-site.
- Technical Submittals and Approvals:
- Prepare and submit technical submittals, including material selections, product samples, and other project-related documentation for approval.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Ensure that all materials and products meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Quality Control and Site Inspections:
- Conduct site visits to monitor the implementation of architectural designs and to ensure that the work aligns with approved plans.
- Perform quality control checks to verify that the work meets the required standards and specifications.
- Address any issues or discrepancies identified on-site and provide solutions to rectify them.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure the project stays on track and meets deadlines.
- Serve as a point of contact between the technical office and on-site teams, ensuring smooth communication and quick resolution of any technical issues.
- Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to discuss project progress and resolve any technical concerns.
- Document Management and Reporting:
- Maintain proper documentation of all technical drawings, project-related correspondence, and approvals.
- Prepare regular reports on the progress of the technical work and raise any concerns regarding project delays or design changes.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Provide technical leadership on architectural design and technical office procedures.
Skills
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and technical office roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior position.
- Skills and Expertise:
- Strong expertise in architectural design, drafting, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Strong ability to prepare, review, and manage shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Language: Fluency in English (Arabic is a must).
