Mechanical Manager

Job Summary:


Mechanical Manager is responsible to develop all activities related to mechanical work of RSG's projects through developing conceptual designs and drawings, assessing electrical instrument resistance and ensure adherence to international standards, monitoring contractors works and timelines, and developing RFQ in order to achieve optimal work delivery as per company’s vision and parameters.


Responsibilities :


  • Direct the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the Buildings and Places function to deliver RSG vision and mission.
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Buildings and Places function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans in order to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.
  • Direct the activities of the Building and Places IC mechanical team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance.
  • Lead the preparation of the functional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Execute the preparation and planning of conceptual designs and drawings for various large-scale projects through translating the executive vision in coordination with the relevant parties e.g. subcontractors, consultant, etc., to ensure planned work sequence meets project objectives and company aspirations.
  • Direct the development of mechanical systems specification, technical drawings and topographical maps, ensure that all the designs and specification comply with international standards of safety and security.
  • Audit and evaluate the shop drawings and composite drawings to ensure that there are no clashes between the services and the civil works in order to abide by the appropriate sequence and ensure compliance to international standards.
  • Direct the assessment of mechanical installation and operations and ensure adherence and compliance with international standards of safety and security.
  • Assure product quality by designing mechanical testing methods; test finished products and system capabilities, ensure that those products can support red sea climate and environment and they don’t present any risk to the project.
  • Conduct meetings with Architecture and all relevant functions to discuss mechanical design standards and requirement needed to cater project’s needs.
  • Direct meeting with contractors and subcontractors, ensure that all works are executed as per agreed plans and scheduled timelines are maintained to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Direct the evaluations of the material submittals through dynamic cost modelling, investigation and analyses and align it with the requested specifications before its submission to engineers and subcontractors to ensure optimal value of money and resource allocation efficiency.
  • Develop RFQ’s, and ensure that all the scope of work, specification, timelines are clear, send it to all the contractors to kick-off the bidding process.
  • Assess supplier, vendor and subcontractor tenders and specs and timelines to support the evaluation and selection of most appropriate provider.
  • Direct the evaluation of all mechanical related technical and financial bids submitted by respective subcontractors to align their offers with RSG best interest.
  • Direct and follow-up on all maintenance issues and ensure they are identified and treated at the design stage to avoid any possible delay or cost.
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any related field.
  • PMP certified or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of 18 years of relevant experience in a similar position with 4 years in a managerial position.
