Position Title: Planning Engineer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our team for the construction of a new airport. The Planning Engineer will play a critical role in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating activities to ensure the project is executed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to manage complex schedules while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Ensure schedules are realistic, resource-loaded, and aligned with project objectives and milestones.
- Identify critical paths, dependencies, and constraints to minimize delays.
- Progress Monitoring:
- Track project progress against the approved baseline schedule and prepare regular status reports.
- Conduct delay analysis and recommend recovery plans to address deviations.
- Evaluate the impact of design changes, resource constraints, or unforeseen conditions on project timelines.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and client representatives, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and other team members to coordinate activities and resources.
- Prepare and present periodic project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and report on potential scheduling conflicts or delays and propose corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of project schedules, progress updates, and other relevant documentation.
- Generate dashboards and progress reports, including earned value analysis (EVA), to provide actionable insights.
- Compliance:
- Ensure project schedules comply with contractual obligations, technical specifications, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale construction projects, preferably in the aviation or infrastructure sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, airport systems, and standards.
- Familiarity with project management principles, including earned value management.
- Key Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in airport construction projects is preferred but not a must
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or planning (e.g., PSP) is preferred but not a must
