Sector: Food Distribution


We are looking for a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in Food Distribution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting and financial management, with specific experience in the food sector


Key Responsibilities:


Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets and forecasts.


Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.


Manage accounts payable, receivable and general ledger activities.


Perform cost analysis and provide insights to improve operations.


Collaborate with management to support financial decision making.


Handle tax reporting and coordinate with external auditors.


Qualifications and Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.


At least 5 years of practical accounting experience, with at least 2 years of experience in the food industry.


Strong knowledge of accounting software and tools (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP).


Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.


Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.


Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Financial Reporting: Ability to prepare accurate and comprehensive financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Cost Analysis: Expertise in analyzing operational costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, or similar tools for efficient financial management.
  • Tax Compliance: Experience in tax reporting and ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Strong skills in creating and managing budgets, as well as preparing financial forecasts.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors or discrepancies in financial records and ensure high levels of accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve financial issues and suggest improvements.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with management, auditors, and external stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment and support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Food Industry Regulations: Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations, especially in the food distribution sector, is a plus.
