Job Purpose:
Safety Coordinator has overall responsibility for managing Occupational Health, Occupational Safety, Environment and Physical Security agendas and frameworks to achieve Excellence on own Unilever Sites and extended 3P ecosystem in scope, contributing to Unilever Strategy of Vision Zero.
S/he works with Category Supply Chain teams, Business Operations teams (Logistics), Workplace Services, HR and Occupational Health, Customer Development (CD) and Communications to implement of SHE strategy and improvement plans to achieve sustainable excellence by reducing occupational injuries and work-related health illnesses expressed in TRFR and lessens environmental impacts.
What will your main responsibilities be:
SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment)
Responsible for the continuous implementation of SHE requirements within the relevant country, ensuring that SHE is understood as a business enabler and implemented within every aspect of Unilever’s business.
Assess risks and safety hazards of all aspects of operations in Offices and Warehouses.
Prepare and share analytical reports of safety data for line organization and providing guidance and recommendations on how to prevent accidents aiming to increase Near Miss reporting and leaders’ engagement on the shopfloor.
Support and lead training and awareness sessions on safety policy, standards and requirements, ad hoc sessions to Unilever employees. Support employees.
Support and track the implementation of the Life Critical standards and create interactive and highly engaging opportunities in Gemba.
Performs offsite safety assessments for Company Safety Events (e.g. awaydays, conferences, etc) and supports host leaders to ensure risk assessments and mitigation plans preps and implementation.
Takes lessons to brief Agencies to improve post events.
Establish risk-based safety plans that include suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and business processes.
Meet company health and safety goals by personally leading the agreed projects and activities linked to OKRs and KSA SHE strategy into action.
Lead / assist in investigation of root causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions in the office space and warehouses in scope.
Review and report on staff compliance with health and safety life critical rules and recommending commendations or consequence management based on performance.
Conduct safety and environmental audits for office(s) and external warehouses.
Conduct Emergency evacuation drills for office and warehouses regularly and setting goals to improve results on a continuous basis.
Create plans for Emergency Response team for Office and Warehouse based on risk assessments and scenario planning.
Conduct on-boarding and regular safety training and refresher for employees.
Implement Safe Travel Program to all Sales Team in line with Arabia Safe Travel in Vehicle strategy, aiming to reduce injuries and fatalities on the road to Zero. Drive implementation of D&A program.
Implement and upkeep Telematics regularly, establishing a proactive data-driven approach predicting negative driving trends.
Establish a framework to driver and leased / own vehicle fitness.
Promote Reward and recognition for best drivers.
Perform warehouse safety audits in Dammam and Riyadh locations and other pre-start up audits when new warehouses are introduced.
Provide relevant training for 3rd Party staff in line with existing contractual obligations.
Implement agreed Merchandiser Safety Program elements to have less injuries.
Physical Security (At Site Level)
GTM SHE Officer will be responsible for Security and coordination with support partners for execution e.g. Eng, Workplace, 3P:
Apply & Maintain Physical Security & Common Camera Standards to ensure only authorized personnel access the premises.
Conduct Site Security Risk Assessment (SSRA) & Execute Site Security Plan.
Establish monthly mandatory training ensuring security personnel is equipped to handle their responsibilities - Manned Guarding KPI v4.0 or similar.
Coordinate Site Security 3P; Integrate SOPs, Site Processes, site Contract Management, KPI Management and corporate audit requirements.
Maintain & upgrade site security infrastructure as per SSRA findings & local regulation requirements.
Coordinate site level Investigations, LL communications and input findings to SIREN.
Coordinate security agenda regular reviews at site level CSHEC and track action plans.
Act as the first responder to security incident, alarms and emergencies, including crisis communication, evacuations and contacting emergency services -Unilever Standard for Incident Management / People Accountability System (PAS) or its corporate equivalent.
What you need to succeed?
Experiences & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
0 – 2 years' experience preferably in SHE Role within FMCG, Manufacturing or Logistics.
Excellent knowledge of SHE ISO standards.
Strong knowledge of Behavior Based Safety methodology.
High computer skills (Microsoft and presentations creation).
