Role:

The System Administrator supports,

maintain, and optimize our infrastructure.

This role involves:

having strong expertise in VMware (v Center, reporting, monitoring), Linux servers, Active Directory (AD) and Exchange Server, as well as Unity Dell Storage solutions. The System Admin will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the IT systems and services.

Responsibilities

VMware Administration:

·vCenter Management: Administer and manage VMware vCenter servers, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtual environments.

·VMware Reports: Generate and analyze reports related to performance, resource utilization, and health status of virtual machines and ESXi hosts.

·Monitoring: Implement and oversee the monitoring of virtualized environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.

·Backup & Recovery: Ensure proper backup strategies for VMware virtual machines and handle disaster recovery planning.

·Patching & Upgrades: Apply patches, upgrades, and updates to VMware components, ensuring they are compliant with best practices and security protocols.

Linux Server Administration:

·System Configuration & Optimization: Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

·Performance Tuning: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux servers for performance, scalability, and high availability.

·Security & Patch Management: Implement security policies, fi rewalls, and encryption measures. Perform regular security updates and vulnerability scans.

·Scripting: Develop and maintain shell scripts for system automation, backup jobs, and system monitoring.

·Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Linux system services, fi le systems, and networking.

Active Directory (AD) and Exchange Server:

·AD Management: Administer and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including user and group management, GPOs, domain controllers, DNS, and LDAPconfi gurations.

·Exchange Server Administration: Manage and troubleshoot Exchange Server environments, including mail fl ow, calendar, distribution lists, and mailboxmanagement.

·Security & Compliance: Ensure Active Directory and Exchange systems comply with security best practices, conduct regular audits, and enforce policies.

·Backup & Recovery: Manage backups and restore processes for AD and Exchange Server environments.


Unity Dell Storage Administration:

·Storage Configuration: Configure and manage Dell Unity storage arrays (both Unity XT and Unity hybrid systems), including storage provisioning, fi le services, and block services.

·Performance Monitoring: Oversee the performance and health of Dell Unity storage systems. Implement monitoring and alerts for storage performance, capacity, and health.

·Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration tasks to/from Unity storage, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

·Storage Backup & Disaster Recovery: Ensure reliable backups and disaster recovery solutions are in place for critical data stored on Unity systems.

·Capacity Planning & Optimization: Regularly assess storage capacity and make recommendations for future growth. Optimize the use of storage resource


Technical - Functional Requirements

· VMware: vCenter, ESXi, vSphere, vRealize, VMotion, DRS, HA

· Linux Servers: Shell scripting, system performance tuning, log analysis, SSH, NFS, Apache, MySQL, etc.

· Active Directory: User and group management, GPOs, domain controllers, DNS, LDAP

· Exchange Server: Mail fl ow, transport rules, mailbox databases, Exchange Online hybrid setups

· Dell Unity Storage: Storage provisioning, data replication, snapshot management, block and fi le services

· Backup Tools: Veeam backup solutions

· Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds.


Education and Certifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.


Certifications (preferred):

-VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

-Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar Linux certifications

-Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar AD/Exchange certifications

-Dell Unity storage-related certifications (e.g., Unity Storage Administrator)


Experiences Required

Experience:

-Minimum of 4 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on VMware, Linux servers, Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Unity Dell Storage.

-Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter and related VMware tools.

-Strong experience with Linux server administration (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).

-In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange Server management and troubleshooting.

-Experience with Dell Unity storage systems (Unity XT, Unity hybrid).
