The Estimator is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the costs of projects and services to provide accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. They collect and analyze data to ensure project budgets and cost objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Analysis:
• Review and understand project requirements and technical specifications.
• Analyze tender documents and engineering drawings.
2. Cost Estimation:
• Calculate quantities of materials and equipment needed.
• Estimate labor costs based on schedules and work plans.
• Research prices for materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Report and Proposal Preparation:
• Provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for management or clients.
• Assist in preparing quotations and tender submissions.
4. Coordination and Follow-Up:
• Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
• Monitor project changes or modifications that affect costs.
5. Risk Analysis:
• Identify financial and operational risks associated with projects.
• Propose solutions to mitigate potential risks.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cost estimation (preferably in the same industry).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel, or similar).
