Job Title: Civil Site Engineer
Location: Multiple Locations, KSA
Company Introduction:
We are a leading EPC contracting company in Saudi Arabia, specializing in high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (BHV) substations, overhead transmission lines (OHTL), power plants, water treatment plants, water pipelines, and industrial plant projects. To ensure the successful execution of our projects, we are seeking a skilled Civil Site Engineer to manage and oversee all civil engineering activities at our project sites.
Position Overview:
The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. This role involves close coordination with the project team, contractors, and suppliers to deliver quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, project supervision, and construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision and Management:
- Oversee daily civil construction activities, including excavation, foundation work, concreting, and structural installations.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of civil works within the project schedule.
Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to integrate civil activities with other project disciplines.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address site challenges and provide updates on progress.
- Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure the availability of materials and equipment.
Quality Assurance and Inspections:
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and project requirements.
- Identify and address non-conformities or defects, ensuring corrective measures are implemented promptly.
- Verify the quality of construction materials and approve their usage on-site.
Design and Compliance:
- Review and interpret civil engineering drawings, technical documentation, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Propose design modifications or solutions to optimize construction efficiency or resolve issues.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Ensure that all civil activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Identify potential hazards on-site and implement safety measures to prevent accidents.
- Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for the civil team.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports, daily logs, and inspection reports.
- Document and communicate any changes to project scope, plans, or schedules.
- Prepare regular updates and reports for project managers and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Technical Support:
- Resolve technical issues and challenges on-site in a timely manner to avoid project delays.
- Provide technical guidance to the construction team to ensure proper execution of civil works.
- Act as a liaison between the design team and on-site personnel to address technical queries.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, preferably within the construction or EPC industry.
- Experience in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects is a plus.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera, or MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certification in Project Management or Construction Management is a plus.
- Knowledge of international standards and codes, such as ACI or ASTM, is preferred.
