The Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment within the construction and building industry. This position involves implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety among employees. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety regulations and the ability to communicate effectively with team members to mitigate risks and prevent accidents. With a minimum of 2 years experience, the Safety Officer will contribute significantly to the overall safety performance of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  2. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations.
  3. Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff.
  4. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
  6. Collaborate with project managers to ensure safety compliance on job sites.
  7. Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper maintenance.
  8. Prepare safety reports and presentations for management review.
  9. Act as a liaison between management and employees regarding safety concerns.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety regulations.
