General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the construction of the projects. Work with contractors, and Supervision Consultants to ensure that the projects are built according to the Contract plans and specifications.
- Provide technical support to the team at the site.
- Ensure that the Construction complies with all applicable building codes, standards and regulations.
- provide expert advice, solve technical issues and provide consultation to clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Review Shop drawings
- Review material submissions
- Enforce safety protocols.
- Provide Quality Assurance oversight.
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Skills
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and/or any related engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in civil works and infrastructure in comprehensive mega projects the functional role includes taking overall responsibility for a civil engineer in mega projects.
- Familiar with the different design techniques and software tools used in the field. This includes computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Understand the properties of different construction materials and methods to ensure the safety and durability of structures.
- Facing complex problems that require creative and analytical solutions. They must be able to identify problems, collect and analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
- Effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, contractors and fellow engineers. They should be able to write clear and concise reports, make presentations, and explain technical concepts in a non-technical way.
- Collaborate with the team of engineers, technicians and contractors and work effectively as part of the team, exchanging ideas, and resolving disputes.
- Successful implementation of at least two previously similar projects.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, material evaluation reports, specifications, etc. in English.
- Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, methods, materials, devices and computers used in the field.
- Knowledge of regulatory or industry rules and standards and design and/or planning standards applicable in the industry.
- Knowledge of engineering procedures, design guidelines, automated and managerial practices.
- Good experience in reviewing shop drawings and drawings by port.
- Good knowledge of reviewing pre-construction designs.
- Familiarity with the software for the application of three-dimensional civil engineering.
- Familiarity with survey techniques and methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant structural design analysis, software detailing, and relevant rules and standards.
- Basic knowledge of geotechnical techniques and their interpretability.
- Familiarity with the uses of concrete and iron for construction materials.
