Description
As a GIS Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the geospatial databases that support our GIS applications and services. You will ensure the integrity, performance, and security of spatial data, and provide support for GIS data management tasks. Your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing GIS databases, as well as collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the effective use of geospatial data.
Responsibilities :
- GIS Database Design and Management
- Perform data migrations and conversions between different GIS formats and systems.
- Monitor and maintain database systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Provide technical support for GIS users, addressing issues related to data access, performance, and functionality.
Skills
Requirements
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
Knowledge of spatial database concepts and GIS data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML).
Experience with GIS server technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Server, GeoServer) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
GIS Professional (GISP) certification or similar GIS-related certifications.
Database certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) are advantageous
