The Fixed Assets and Inventory Accountant plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of fixed assets and inventory within an automotive dealership and distributor environment. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles related to asset management and inventory control. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with financial regulations, while also contributing to the overall efficiency of the dealership's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and manage the fixed assets register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and valued.
  2. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and accounting records.
  3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to fixed assets and inventory.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with internal controls.
  6. Monitor depreciation schedules and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  7. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
  8. Analyze inventory turnover and recommend strategies for improvement.
  9. Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to fixed assets and inventory.
