The Health and Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees within the Oil & Gas, Construction & Building, and Technical Maintenance & Repair sectors. This position is vital for maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety protocols, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  2. Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the organization.
  3. Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices and emergency response procedures.
  4. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  6. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  7. Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.
  8. Assist in the development of safety-related documentation, including risk assessments and safety data sheets.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in legislation related to health and safety.
  10. Act as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees.
