We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to manage the procurement of materials and equipment for our projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing that meets the quality standards of the company.
Position Overview:
The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of materials and equipment for our EPC projects. This role requires a professional with strong knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation. The Procurement Engineer will collaborate closely with the project management, engineering, and finance teams to ensure that all procurement activities align with project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for materials and equipment required for EPC projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project needs and ensure timely procurement of resources.
- Prepare and maintain procurement schedules, aligning with project timelines.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable sourcing of materials.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, including site visits and assessments of capacity, quality, and financial stability.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best value for the company.
Material Sourcing and Cost Control:
- Source materials and equipment that meet the technical specifications and quality standards of the company.
- Monitor market trends and material availability to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Conduct cost analyses and compare quotes to achieve savings while maintaining quality.
Order Processing and Delivery:
- Issue purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inventory and avoid project delays.
- Resolve any issues related to delays, shortages, or defective materials in coordination with suppliers.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all procurement transactions, including contracts, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
- Provide regular reports on procurement status, costs, and performance metrics to management.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with the engineering and construction teams to ensure all materials meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets and ensure payment terms are adhered to.
- Participate in project review meetings, providing updates on procurement activities and addressing any concerns related to material supply.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement within the EPC, construction, or engineering industries.
- Proven experience in managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and sourcing technical materials or equipment.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications for materials and equipment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar systems).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred but not required.
