Job Purpose:
The Environmental Engineer & Sustainability Engineer focuses on job tasks as a way to identify hazards before they occur. The position will focus on the relationship between the worker, the task, the tools and the work environment at our manufacturing facility. This position is for local college students only..
Responsibilities:
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Contribute to drawing up the general framework for radiation protection and safe uses of x-ray devices and radioactive sources in the factory.
- Adhere to the general instructions for protection from ionizing radiation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Continuous radiological control and supervision of the application of radiation protection rules for workplaces and workers, and the application of radiation exposure rates in accordance with national instructions.
- Conducting the periodic radiological survey in the examination areas on the production lines and the surrounding areas.
- Accurate follow-up of the following: Radiation Submission of radiation protection and safety reports periodically to the facility management and the regulatory authority (NRRC).
- Distributing TLD cards to radiation workers and following up the registration of their exposed radiation doses.
- Annual medical test of all radiation workers.
- Periodic calibration of radiation survey devices and personal protective equipment in licensed centers.
- Keep record of all radioactive sources and x-ray machines, and recording the specifications data.
- Monitor and report any shortage of personal protective equipment or in terms of efficiency, malfunctions and leakage.
- Preparing an appropriate radiological emergency plan to face any exposure accident or radioactive source contamination or disappeared, and always keeping the necessary and appropriate tools and devices to implement this plan.
- Notify the competent authority (NRRC), directly of any misbehaviors in the radiation practices in the facility that contravene what is stated in the general instructions for protection against ionizing radiation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Holding or organizing periodic training programs in radiation protection and safety for workers about radioactive sources and radiation protection, and provide the competent authority (NRRC) with the scientific material and the names of the participants in the course.
- Reject to take any action that could put the employees in danger or in violation of the general instructions for radiation protection.
- Monitor and report Environmental KPIs on daily basis in the Plant indicator file.
- Follow all Business unit requirements and submit all the reports regarding decarbonization, water usage, energy usage, recycling, packaging data, and AWS certificate in addition to SVA renewal.
- Monitor Water usage, energy usage, waste recycling, and hazardous waste disposal by 3rd party.
- Report Environmental KPIs on monthly basis in the MRM file, KOSMOS.
- Report the Sustainability Data on monthly basis to OLAYAN through their online platform.
- Perform as Sustainability Champion and report the data Annually to the GM and then to OLAYAN.
- Renew and follow up all governmental licenses and certificates renewal process related to NRRC or Environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environment Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Safety and Radiation Safety.
Skills and Attributes:
- Certified Radiation Safety Officer from NRRC in Nuclear gauge.
- Advanced in English and computer skills
- Strong analytical skills is required
