Responsibilities:
- Create and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Teach mathematics to students using a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
- Assess student progress through regular quizzes, tests, and homework assignments.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students who are struggling with math concepts.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies for student success.
- Monitor and manage student behavior in the classroom to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends and research.
Skills
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience teaching math at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of math concepts and the ability to effectively teach them to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and a dedication to student success.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Experience using technology and digital resources to enhance instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
- High level of instructional technology skills
- Professional proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office suite)
- Pastoral and student advising experience
